Boat days are finally upon us and it is so important to pack all of the right boat day essentials that will make your day as stress free as possible.
It is so easy to leave behind boat essentials from boat snacks, sunscreen, towels, hats, and more, so we have made the ultimate list of boat day essentials for you to check off before getting on the boat.
So, let's get ready to hit the water and spend time in the sun!
Best Boat Day Essentials
1. Mesh Trash Bag
Trust me . . . a designated trash bag is so IMPORTANT on the boat because we all know everyone is going to be asking, "Where should I put my trash?".
You can easily tie it down so it doesn't fly away!
2. Boat Day Towel
Whether you are heading on the boat or to the beach, this is by far the easiest beach towel to pack. It is so light weight, thin, and absorbent, so it will not take up much space in your bag.
3. Waterproof Tote Bag
It is a no brainer that you NEED a large tote to carry all of your belongings onto the boat like your towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, keys, etc.
I recommend going with a waterproof bag that has a zipper because you never know when you are going to get splashed with water. Plus, this tote comes with a wet compartment for your wet towels and clothes.

4. Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker
Depending on the boat type of boat you are on. . . ย if you don't already have a bluetooth speaker, then this is the way to go!
Trust me, everyone is going to LOVE you for bringing this waterproof bluetooth speaker.
5. Tinted Face Sunscreen
It is so IMPORTANT to wear sunscreen, especially on your face.
However, not just any sunscreen. . . tinted face sunscreen (matte). This face sunscreen changed my world and I could talk about it forever. It goes on so smoothly, is light weight, and gives your face a little color!
6. Women's Water Shoes
If you are the type of person who prefers water shoes over sandals on the boat, then these are the ones for you. Theseย casual aqua walking shoes are insanely comfortable and look like a typical pair of tennis shoes, so they don't have that funny water shoe look to them.

7. S'well Water Bottle
You cannot forget to bring water on your boat day!
I will forever stand by the fact that S'well water bottlesย are the BEST water bottles you could bring on a boat day, beach day, pool day, etc. because they will keep your water ice cold even in the blazing hot sun.
8. Collapsible Cooler Bag
You are probably going to be spending all day on the boat, so having a cooler for your snacks and drinks is a must.ย
So, depending on your preference . . . you may or may not like lugging around a huge cooler. That's why I recommend this cooler bag, which is 10x easier to carry and has a 24L capacity.
9. Waterproof Dry Bag
It is always a smart idea to keep at least one dry bag on the boat to carry all of your super important items like cellphones, wallets, keys, paperwork, etc.
10. Waterproof Card Games
Your mind probably doesn't go straight to card games when you're on a boat, but it is such a fun way to relax and just hangout with friends after being tired out from swimming.

11. Sun Hat
Protect your face from the sun at all costs. . . seriously a sun hat is so important on the boat!
This adorable sun hat is not only insanely cute, but will help keep the harmful sun rays off of your face.
12. Sunglass Strap
It is so easy for your sunglasses to slip off on the boat, especially when the wind is blowing straight into your face when going fast.
So, having straps on your sunglasses is CRUCIAL. Can literally be the difference between losing and saving your sunglasses!

If you are planning on getting in the water, then this hammock float is going to be your new favorite floaty. My family is obsessed with it and we always bicker over who is going to get to float in it first.
14. SPF 30 Lip Balm
Protecting your lips from the sun is just as important as the rest of your skin, so I always like to keep a couple SPF 30 lip balms in my bag.
15. Large Claw Clips
If you have long thick hair like myself, then keeping at least one of these large claw clips on hand is a great idea. It is a super easy way to get your hair pulled back and out of your face!

Staying cool on a hot summer boat day is a STRUGGLE . . . unless you are in the water. So, having a small portable fan will make your day a little more comfortable. Trust me, everyone is going to try to steal your handheld fan.
18. Variety Snack Pack
If you are lazy like me . . . then getting a large pack of snacks is the way to go. There is something for everyone from kids to adults, plus they are super easy to pack!
19. Swim Suit Coverup
A cute swim suit coverup is a MUST. Whether you are on your way to the boat or just lounging on the boat, a cute coverup is necessary.
20. Sun Bum Leave-In Conditioner
Saltwater can dry out your hair, which can lead to damage. So, I always recommend spraying leave-in conditioner into your hair before swimming in the ocean so that your hair can absorb the conditioner instead of the saltwater.
21. Mini Portable Charger
You never know how long you will be on the boat so having a backup charger is always a good idea.
