Beach Essentials For Dogs
1. Dog Beach Towel
Arguably the most important beach essential you could own for your dog. . . if your dog is the type to run through the water (like mine)! If this sounds like your dog, then you are for sure going to want to dry him/her off before they jump in your car.
I used to be the type of person who would designate any "old" towel as the "dog towel", but I just knew it would be so much easier to have a real dog beach towel so that I wouldn't have to worry about anyone mistaking the dog towel as their own. Now that the dog beach towel is obvious with the dog paw, it makes everything much easier.

2. Portable Dog Water Bottle
LIFE CHANGING! I could talk about this dog water bottle ALL DAY. It is seriously the best. It is so annoying to have to carry around dog bowls every time you leave the house, so having the option of simply pouring the water in the the small cup at the end of the bottle makes it 10X easier.
Plus, you can just suck the water that he/she doesn't drink back into the bottle, so that no water is wasted.

3. Dog Travel Bag
If you are the type of person who needs everything to be organized, then you are going to love this. You can easily pack all of your dog's beach essentials in this doggy travel bag. It comes with two collapsible dog bowls and two dog food containers!
4. Dog Paw Washer
Bringing your dog to the beach equals sandy paws. And, the last thing you want, is sand to be all over your car. In order to help reduce the amount of sand your furry friends bring into your car, I recommend this paw washer.
Choose the size based on your dog's breed.
5. Dog Paw Balm
This is something that I didn't know my dog needed until I started learning more about how sensitive our dogs' paw are to extreme temperatures and harsh surfaces.
We all know how scorching hot the sand on the beach can get on a summer day, so it is extremely important to protect our dogs' paws just as we would protect our feet with shoes. This Paw Balm creates a protective wax barrier on your dog's paws to protect them from the hot sand.
6. Dog Life Jacket
If your dog is a water lover, then you should definitely consider getting him/her a doggy life jacket. It is just that extra protection that will make you feel much more secure about your dog swimming in the ocean. If your beach has large waves like mine does, then a life jacket would definitely be a good choice.
7. Beach Dog Bed/Tent
I don't know about you, but at my house the dogs are treated as royalty. I mean, they seriously get SPOILED. If you are like this, then you will probably agree that your dog needs their own tent.
The beach on a mid summer day is HOT, hence why everyone brings their own shade. So, there is no doubt that your dog can easily get over heated. The elevated mesh surface of this bed helps keep your dog cool by allowing air to circulate. Plus, it has a removable canopy for even more sun protection.
8. Dog Sunscreen
9. Dog Stake
Depending on the rules at your beach, your dog may be required to be on the leash at all times. Or, if it is like my local beach, the dogs are only allowed to be off leash when they are in the water.
If this is similar to your beach, then I highly recommend you to get a dog stake that you can connect a long dog leash to, so that you don't have to be holding your dog's leash all the time.
Of course, don't just leave your dog's leash tied to the stake if you leave the tent/umbrella at any time. But, if everyone is just chilling under the tent/umbrella, then that would be a great time to connect your dog the stake.
10. Waterproof Car Backseat Cover
SO IMPORTANT! If you have a large dog, then you know how messy the back of your car can get when they are in it, especially after a beach day. Your dog is inevitably going to bring some amount of sand in your car even if you try your best to get most of it off.
Next thing you know, your backseat is a hot mess. That's why a backseat hammock cover is a serious game changer. Plus, this backseat hammock is waterproof, which is super important for beach days.
11. Portable Dog Shower
In the case that your dog is super sandy and needs a quick "shower" before hopping in the car, this portable dog shower is exactly what you need. This shower caps fits any 2 liter soda bottle!
This makes it super easy to give your dog a quick rinse.
