This post is all about how to smell like coconut.
I would have never thought to write this post if I hadn't received so many compliments recently that went a little like this . . . "Is that you that smells so good?", "You smell like coconut", "What smells so good?".
So, I just knew that I had to share this little coconut secret to smelling like a summer day.
There are several key components to getting this light coconut scent, especially when it comes to making it stay all day long. You are going to learn all about the best coconut products to use and the proper order of steps.
So, let's break it down and you can start receiving compliments from strangers (seriously even from the grocery cashier)!
How To Smell Like Coconut
Step 1 - Use Native Coconut & Vanilla Body Wash
One of the key secrets to smelling like coconut is to be CONSISTENT with your scent choice for every product, and that starts in the shower. This Native Coconut & Vanilla body wash has a light, sweet coconut scent that gives you the perfect foundation to start with.
P.S if you are looking for a gentle body scrubber, I recommend the Avilana Silicone Body Scrubber (my favorite alternative to a loofa).
Step 2 - Use Coconut Shampoo & Conditioner
If you want to be EXTRA consistent on scent, then sticking to Native's Coconut & Vanilla scent for your shampoo and conditioner is the way to go. I am a HUGE fan of Native, so pairing their hair products with their body wash is a solid choice.
Recently, I switched up my shampoo and conditioner to the Ogx Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo and I love it too! Both are great options and have delightful coconut scents, so it just comes down to your preference.
Step 3 - Trader Joe's Coconut Body Butter
If you end up only following one of these steps it MUST be this one! This coconut body butter is the holy grail to locking in your coconut scent.
First of all, it seriously feels like whipped butter, in the best way possible. It absorbs quickly and makes your skin feel SO SOFT. You are going to want to apply this immediately after drying off out of the shower.
Step 4 - Apply Native Coconut & Vanilla Deodorant
As you can see sticking to the coconut scent for every step of your self care routine is CRUCIAL. After discovering Native, I became hooked on their products and they make it super easy to be consistent with one scent (not sponsored by Native, just really love the brand).
Finish off your "body" care with this coconut & vanilla deodorant and you are almost done!

Step 5 - Finish Off With Sun Bum Conditioner Spray
The final step to your coconut routine is optional. I would recommend this step for anyone who likes a little more of a "tropical" hint to your scent. Sun Bum's conditioner spray not only makes detangling your hair much easier, but it also locks in that final touch of coconut.
Your hair is one of the best spots to hold scents, so this final step is key to making it last all day long.
