What are vegan sandals?
It is not everyday that you describe shoes as being vegan, so no shame that you are curious as to what exactly a vegan shoe is. Well, it is exactly what you would expect it to be . . . a shoe made without any animal products, therefore a plant based shoe. Just like vegans do not consume animal products, vegan footwear does not contain any animal products (please do not eat your shoes).
Are vegan shoes durable?
Vegan shoes can be highly durable, however it varies by each shoe brand and style. For example, real leather shoes are typically more durable than vegan leather by nature. However, if properly taken care of, vegan leather can last you a very long time.
What are vegan shoes made of?
There are a variety of materials that vegan shoes are made of including cotton, satin, polyester, synthetic materials, faux leather, and more. However, the more important aspect of vegan shoes is what they are NOT made of - animal derived materials.
Are vegan shoes sustainable?
The short and simple answer is yes. Vegan shoes are more sustainable than non-vegan shoes because they are made with eco-friendly materials that are sustainably sourced, therefore reducing the carbon footprint and usage of resources such as water. The simple fact is that it is difficult to find anything that is 100% sustainable, however when you compare vegan shoes to non-vegan shoes, they are most definitely MORE sustainable than your typical shoe.Â
